9/28/23: That’s right. I’m getting almost there and all I want to do right now is take a nap or play a video game. The nap is seriously tempting. I just opened chapter 53 and I can’t think.
Update: 6:30p I ended up playing Days Gone for a little bit. Picked up lunch and went to work. I had planned on cooking lunch, but the hubs requested Taco John’s. I’m usually pretty accommodating and tacos actually sounded good. Guess I’ll make a shrimp stir fry another day. I make a lazy stir fry. A bag of frozen stir-fry vegetables, a bag of frozen shrimp, 1 packet of stir fry sauce from Sun Bird. Usually turns out pretty good.
My kids are working on their homework. Twin 1 is working on precipitation and condensation for science and Twin 2 is writing a book report. I actually like how they’ve been instructed on how to do this. We didn’t have instructions on how to do it. They have questions like what the main problem of the story, describe the setting, etc. There are 15 questions and they only have to choose 5 questions to write 5 paragraphs with 5 sentences each. They get to read 1 book each quarter and write a report for each. I hope the next book reports get easier since they will know what they’re doing already.
Sunday Oct 1st. I spent aka wasted most of my day keeping the twins on their homework.😡 . Then I was about to turn on the dishwasher. Its a roll away dishwasher since my old house doesn’t have space for a built in one. I had the hot water going and was putting the soap into the dishwasher when I heard water dripping. Under the sink is a geyser. The drain had a clog an water was coming up from the ventless drain. We went and bought a bottle of drain cleaner with plans to make the vent a little taller.
Last night we poured more drain cleaner in followed by hot water several times. The last time the drain wasn’t backing up anymore. It was running out the bottom. That sink is the worst. That wall of the kitchen is a bump-out and the foundation is about 2-3 feet in from the wall. We’ve had the drain freeze once, the waterlines froze a couple of times. A year ago we went and insulated the crap out of it and now we have to go and undo all the insulation to replace the drain line. 💩 And I’m washing dishes in the bathtub. Lunch will include a trip to the hardware store. I’m hoping this won’t take long.
As Chris Fox likes to say at the end of his videos “I’d better get back to the writing”. On to Chapter 53!
10:09a Writing sprint and the next chapter is done. Now I have to go clear out the roses under the kitchen window so we can progress with the plumbing disaster.
